Benjamin Fretwell
Senior Associate, Graphic Designer + Illustrator

Benjamin Fretwell has enjoyed an extraordinary career spanning more than three decades in the fashion and retail industries. He has designed and produced award-winning work for companies such as Macy's, GAP Inc., and Mervyn's, as well as advertising agencies across the globe.

A graduate in fashion illustration of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Benjamin's background includes fashion, advertising, and art direction for design, print, visual merchandising and photography. From sculpting mannequins and fashion masks for Niedermaier in Chicago, to creating the hugely successful and iconic character, Sprockets, for the Mervyn’s Kids’ division, Benjamin’s career has rewarded him with a breadth of experience many only dream of.

His recent accomplishments include an enormous fantasy-themed banner for Macy’s Passport 2007, which event founder and co-chair, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, insisted on being photographed and interviewed in front of throughout the evening. He also collaborated with style guru, Alyce Parsons, to produce over 400 minutely detailed illustrations for her fashion industry style reference book, StyleSource.

Benjamin makes his home in what he considers to be one of the most visually sumptuous cities in the world, San Francisco.
