Anne-Marie has focused much of her 15 years of public relations experience on retail, food and beverage marketing and issue communications on both the agency and client side of the business. She specializes in consumer product publicity, community relations, government affairs and crisis communications. She has handled projects ranging from promoting marathons and new fashion lines to recipe contests and surveys, store openings/closings and product recalls.
Anne-Marie has worked extensively with reporters throughout California at the San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, Orange County Register, Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee and the San Diego Union Tribune. She gained national exposure for clients through the Associated Press, USA Today, Fast Company, Family Circle and Mode Magazine and in regional newspapers like the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Detroit Free Press and Minneapolis Star Tribune. She has worked with local and national broadcast stations across the country.
Anne-Marie began her career at The Montgomery Group, a San Francisco public relations agency serving the California Milk Advisory Board, Odwalla, Beverages & More!, Chevy’s Mexican Restaurants and Sweet Factory. At Target Corporation’s Mervyn’s division she spearheaded the company’s public relations and business media outreach, promoted community relations and served as a spokeswoman. Anne-Marie led the introduction of plus-size clothing by Delta Burke at Mervyn’s, and highlighted the company’s president through a series of fashion shows and interviews. She promoted Mervyn’s Community Closet, a store on wheels that provided work- appropriate clothing to women and men transitioning from welfare into the workforce, and school supplies and clothing to underprivileged children.
Today Anne-Marie advises corporate, educational, community-based and individual clients throughout California. She provides media relations representation and training. She researches and provides strategy, tactical objectives and implementation for promotional campaigns and grassroots events. She has helped develop innovative publicity materials and social networking outreach through new media outlets for sports and fitness professionals promoting workshops, training boot camps and health services. She led the introduction of a popular Midwestern restaurant chain into the Southern California market, and helped defeat potentially devastating legislation for a statewide education association. Among her professional commendations are a CIPRA (Creativity in Public Relations), a PRSA Compass Award of Merit, and an IABC Bay Area Best.
Anne-Marie is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Golden Circle of Public Relations at San Jose State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and photography.
